Béarla:  Yesterday we learned the sound c, which has two letters C and K but one sound.  Today we learned about the sound e.  We also looked at some words we can make and read using the sounds we have done already:  nest, neck, tent,kitten……can you think of any more?

Obair Bhaile:  bileog e agus dhá líne de s sa leabhar beag glas.  Déanann an litir S dhá fhuaim sa Ghaeilge, sssssss cosúil le cat crosta, agus sssssh cosúil le Bí Ciuin!

 

Isn’t the weather beautiful today?  We are enjoying learning all about Autumn and the weather.

Homework:  Finish the e worksheet, two lines of S in the small green book.  S has two sounds in Irish, ssssss like a cross cat, and ssssh like Be Quiet!

Welcome back to school after the weekend.  Wasn’t the weather beautiful.  Today we visited the school library and we enjoyed listening to a story there.   Next week we will pick out a book which we can bring home for a week.  Homework today:  Handwriting practice: o ; English: The sound n (sorry for any noise disturbance caused by noisy aeroplanes today!)

Thógamar abhaile liosta de na céad 10 amharcfhocail inniu.  Rinneamar iad i Naíonáin Bheaga agus ba chóir go bhfuil siad ar eolas againn.  Bhi dhá chóip ar an leathanach ionas gur féidir cluichí a dhéanamh as an léitheoireacht, mar snap, péire, srl.

Our English sound of the day was p.  We also took home a sheet with two copies of every sound we covered this week, so we can practice them and play snap, pairs., etc.

Another lovely week over already, the time is flying!  We were learning about autumn today and made some lovely patterns with leaf shapes.  

We took home a list today of the first 10 sight-words in Irish.  We learned these in Naíonáin Bheaga so we should know them all by now.  There are two sets of the words on each page so we can practise the words and play games like snap, pairs, etc.

It was raining today and we had to stay in our classroom at Am Lóin.  We were very happy that we had P.E. in the Halla afterwards.

We will be using cardboard boxes in Art next week.  If you have any clean, dry cardboard boxes, big or small, please bring them in.  (***please don’t send in any packaging that contained any nut/seed products ***)
